# NeedAVisa open data extracts

## Derived corridor table (CC BY-SA 4.0) — SAC-21

| File | Format |
| --- | --- |
| [`visa-corridors.json`](./visa-corridors.json) | JSON envelope (`meta` + `corridors[]`) |
| [`visa-corridors.csv`](./visa-corridors.csv) | Flat CSV (same columns) |

**Attribution:** Adapted from **The Visa Matrix** by xpressmike / Nomad Briefing ([github.com/xpressmike/visa-matrix](https://github.com/xpressmike/visa-matrix), [nomadbriefing.com/data/visa-matrix](https://nomadbriefing.com/data/visa-matrix/)), licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Related Wikipedia-family visa requirement tables are generally CC BY-SA 4.0; where used via Visa Matrix, the same attribution and share-alike obligations apply.

**Share-alike:** Redistribution of this adapted dataset must retain attribution and remain under CC BY-SA 4.0 (or a compatible share-alike licence). Full upstream licence text: [`data/visa-matrix/LICENSE`](https://github.com/trakand/needavisa/blob/main/data/visa-matrix/LICENSE). These JSON and CSV files are generated artifacts. Regenerate them locally or in CI after the source/database sync; they are committed intentionally so static hosting can serve the share-alike extract. Do not hand-edit them.

**Regenerate** (requires a seeded local D1: `npm run migrate && npm run seed`):

```bash
npm run export:corridors
```

Statuses are source-mapped only — never invented.

## Diplomatic missions / OSM — no bulk extract (SAC-24)

NeedAVisa does **not** ship a downloadable bulk dump of `diplomatic_missions` (OSM-derived, ODbL-1.0). Page-level © OpenStreetMap contributors attribution remains on `/embassies`, mission pages, footer, and `/sources`. See `/sources` for the explicit N/A decision.
